LABORATORY WASTE MANAGEMENT 2023

Sunday, July 30th- 12:30pm - 5:00pm CDT: WC Environmental: Waste Management Short Course:

Presented by: Russ Phifer, WC Environmental, LLC

Each new generation of lab personnel needs to learn the basics of managing laboratory wastes. Academic and Industrial R&D facilities are all subject to RCRA and state regulations that require cradle-to-grave liability for waste generators. This workshop is completely up to date on the regulatory structure and common on-site management methods, including the Generator Improvement Rule which mandates waste determinations at the point of generation. Learn about how to make waste determinations, accumulate wastes effectively on site, manage the required recordkeeping and prepare a waste manifest. We will address disposal technologies, vendor selection, and how to reduce costs by waste consolidation on site and in municipal systems while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Cost: $150.00 + ($11.90 nonrefundable Eventbrite registration fee)
